Vision

Creating
a Clear Vision
The
above quote may be seen as the plea of your staff,
but how does an organisation reach this stage?
Occasionally
pressures of day-to-day business mean that you "cannot
see the wood for the trees". Detail stops you
seeing and communicating the big picture.
At
the start there is a small dedicated team. Everybody
knows the goals that they are aiming for, they
are together so much of the time it is impossible
not too.
Business
is booming they think on their feet and adapt.
They are so close knit everyone will get it, won’t
they?
New
staff come, old staff go, Chinese whispers rule,
it still works doesn’t it?
We
need to revisit our strategy let’s brainstorm!
Do we all agree where we are? Who are our customers?
What do they expect?
Too
often it is only when an organisation gets to the
last stage that it realises how dilute the vision,
which drove the success of the business in the early
days, has become. It does not mean that what the organisation
knows is wrong! It just means the message is not being
clearly communicated because everyone has a slightly
different view on priorities and direction.
The
problem with a dilute vision is that people are hungry
for knowledge. They look at many different sources for
information. The World Wide Web gives them access to
it. When added to traditional press, referrals, recommendations,
guide books and the actual physical experience of staying,
unless you are strict, the experience can be confusing.
Creating
Strategic Vision
Triage
Hospitality specialises in bringing clarity. By looking
at your presence in the world and comparing that to
the experience in the property, then further comparing
it to the vision described by key stakeholders the gaps
can be identified and a strategy put in place to ensure
the gaps are closed.
-
Increase
sales by increasing customer confidence in the product
they are buying
-
Increase
service quality by giving the staff a clear framework
to make their own decisions
-
Decrease
costs by eliminating unnecessary purchases. The
offers that look attractive but do not meet your
vision
-
Decrease
the stress and hassle of decision making by giving
yourself a clear framework
